 Very few – if any – footballers have had a better ecstasy witnessed by Dirk Kuyt as he threw the Eredivisie trophy into the jubilating atmosphere of the city of Rotterdam few weeks ago.

When Kuyt left Feyenoord for Liverpool big things were expected of him, given how he topped the Eredivisie’s scoring chart. Liverpool was his first stop on his sojourn away from The Netherlands.
