KLOPP MAKING SUMMER PLANS ALREADY
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is reportedly making plans for the summer already.
This is despite their brilliant result against Arsenal over the weekend. The Reds have struggled with consistency this term and it has affected their title chances – even a top-four finish is not sure yet.
Klopp is already making plans to add some players to his side. The club has been linked for a while to Frenchman Alexandre Lacazette. The player has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent years: Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal are likely destinations.
Lacazette has been in impressive form this year, scoring 22 goals in 23 league appearances. He is priced above £50 million, meaning only the biggest clubs can afford him.
Klopp wants Lacazette to be the replacement to struggling Daniel Sturridge. The Englishman is set to exit Anfield this year. Though Lacazette had two and a half years with Ligue 1 side Lyon, Klopp is confident that he can snap up the player during the summer.
Lyon Coach Bruno Genesio did not deny reports that the player might leave this summer.
“I don’t know, he’s happy at OL, isn’t he? We’ll see at the end of the season, it could be hard to keep him but we’ll see,” Genesio admitted amidst with bouts of laughter.
Klopp is expected to spend big during the summer to help the team solidify into a Champions League outfit. Liverpool are even hoping to battle Serie A giant Juventus for Athletic Bilbao’s Inaki Williams. Italian sources reported that they saw Reds scouts in the game against Sevilla in the La Liga. The 22-year old forward would cost at least €50 million. He has been decent this term, scoring five goals and helping in seven after 36 games all season.
