BENITEZ WANTS TO SIGN BARCA DEFENDER THIS SUMMER
Everton manager Rafa Benitez has reportedly set his sights on Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet and wants to sign him this summer, according to reports from multiple sources. The former Liverpool manager was announced as the new manager of Everton some days ago following the departure of Carlo Ancelotti to Real Madrid some days before. Benitez’s appointment as Everton boss had a lot of tongues wagging, with fans of the Toffees voicing their displeasure at the club’s decision to appoint someone who has once managed their Merseyside rivals, Liverpool.
Clement Lenglet is the first name on his list of potential signings and he has told the Everton board that he would love the deal to be completed as soon as possible so he can focus on more important issues. Lenglet, 26, is one of the players Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman has told the club that he wishes to let go off this summer and the French defender could be heading to Goodison Park in the coming days
The defender has lost his place in the Barcelona starting team and has been tipped to seal a move away from Camp Nou as early as this summer or else he will have to face the consequences of being restricted to even fewer games under Koeman next season.
