If you view Keegan’s results they weren’t bad, he didn’t have the money to spend as he had the last time. It’s a similar situation here, £4-8Million for Charlie Adams. Imagine trying to get the equivalent of a Barnes, Aldridge or Beardsley now. It will be £20-30 million each. I’m a sucker for the returning hero to save the day.I hope King Kenny does well.
Also how good was Kenny? Why didn’t Kenny win a Ballon d’or award, why isn’t he held in the same esteem as Best, Plantini or Keagan?
@LFCHistory I guess I was wrong then . No hard feelings eh mate ? Nevertheless, you shouldn’t even had the slightest doubts about King Kenny . I knew that he was gonna do a great job because unlike shearer , keegan and etc , he has been at the club for 18 months , he knows the players very well and he has experiences , which proves to be vital at this stage so …. there you go . Liverpool are back !
@adv9xx – I never said I believed Kenny wouldn’t succeed as Liverpool manager, I just stated that I had serious doubts about him returning and that I would like to be proved wrong. The way things stand right now it looks I am being proved wrong and I couldn’t be happier about it !!
The players look motivated, we are playing fantastic football and the entire club is united. The squad is lacking but if NESV buy the right players this January I don’t see why we can’t challenge for fourth.
@LFCHistory …maybe yes, maybe no…but far more important is that KK will be a unifying presence at a club thats been dysfunctional for the past 3 years. hopefully now all the internecine bickering will finally stop. if results/performances improve thats a bonus.
btw hiring steve clarke was a quality move. err and KK didnt “crack under the pressure of being LFC manager”, he cracked under the pressure of being the shouder to cry on for the entire city of liverpool after hillsborough
@LFCHistory i think that’s complete tosh in regard Newcastle. What became apparent was that a totally clueless chairman and interfering and just as clueless footballing director in Dennis Wise stopped Keegan doing anything in the short time back and dragged the club to its knees.

@LFCHistory I think he’s covering all his bases actually. He’s got Sammy Lee still there, he’s JUST brough in Steve Clarke. Perhaps if he can get Rush more involved too and a few more players of true quality in, it will be a very different story to Keegan.

For me the second best British footballer of all time, behind best. Keegan was amazing for LFC, but Kenny truly is the Kop King

@sweetnothing1977 – I am VERY happy to be proven wrong on this issue. Kenny is the right man for LFC both short term and long term.
